Plunder: Another anime great on the horizon?
Plunderer is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Suu Minazuki that recently got adapted into an anime series, the story is based in a post-apocalyptic world in which one’s social standing is defined by "Numbers," each human will have their identity branded with their own "Count," which could define any number related to their life. Maybe its one's walked distance or amount of good deeds they have done for others, this Count could lead them to the “abyss” when it has dropped to zero.
The main character Hina has inherited a mission from her Mother, whose Count has depreciated to zero, to search for the Legendary Ace. In her adventure, she meets a half-masked swordsman named Licht who tries to hide his identity, as he is known as a degenerate for having an incredibly low Count.
And my impressions so far are positive, the characters seem to have some life and depth to them and the world seems structured yet on the brink of chaos at any point. I, for one thing, this anime is one to look out for, in the coming months.
